Why Join Your PTA Executive Board?
The Benefits of Leadership
The number one reason to join the PTA leadership team is to benefit YOUR child. In doing so, you also help your school. But there are MANY MORE advantages. Here are just a few:
Get Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school than interacting with teachers and administrators.
Tap into a Network. Parenting is not easy — it helps to share ideas, concerns, and experiences with other parents and educators in the community. PTA programs and events are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, build rapport, and present a safe space to discuss issues important to YOU.
Watch Yourself Grow. By volunteering with your PTSA, you have a chance to share your varied and valuable experiences. It’s an opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to good use for a good cause — your child and all children in the community.
Speak Up. Because the PTSA is a forum for exchanging ideas, you are encouraged to make suggestions. PTSA can be a way for you to more effectively create change at your child’s school.
Witness Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school, you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. The PTSA plays an essential role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and social events — which are all vital to a school’s success.
Be a Role Model. By becoming a PTSA leader, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education and being involved.
Create the Village. Help to raise kids and strengthen schools and communities. PTSA believes we can make every child’s potential a reality — but we need more believers. We need you!

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a partnership between parents and educators who strive to enhance student learning and enrich the lives of the students within the school. It is also a forum for parents to obtain knowledge and voice their opinions about what is happening in their school. When you join Permenter PTSA, you also join the Texas state and national PTA. Membership numbers count when PTA representatives lobby for support from Cedar Hill Independent School District, the Texas Legislature, and in Congress.
Permenter has an excellent teaching staff and learning environment. We wanted to empower and engage our scholars by giving them a platform, that’s why we are PTSA. As a community, we create a stimulating and successful school for our scholars. The PTSA is an integral part of the school and we welcome your involvement. The PTA has been a part of Permenter Middle School since 1989. This school is what it is today in large part because of the dedication of parents, teachers and community.
EVERYONE — parents, educators, students and other active community members who are concerned about what goes on in our schools and communities — is invited to join our not-for-profit organization.

Where does my money go when I pay membership dues?
PTSA dues directly support your children. Membership fees help fund essential school resources, curriculum needs including programming and strengthening connections between parent and teacher engagement.
Does PTA membership require volunteering and attending meetings?
The only thing required of you when you become a member of the PTSA is to pay the annual membership dues. Beyond that, however you choose to PTA is up to you. PTSA offers all parents and caregivers the opportunity to be engaged in their child's potential.
How much time do I have to commit to being a member of the PTSA?
Membership in the PTSA can involve as much or as little time as you have to offer. There is no wrong or right way to be involved - anything you can give, whether it is time or money, will support your child's potential.
Isn't PTA a social club for stay-at-home moms?
First and foremost, PTA is for every family who care about a child at the school. PTA is for moms, dads, caregivers, grandparents, teachers and the broader community!
While some of the work done by the PTA may appear to be purely social - including family events like Epic Waters indoor water park; the purpose of our work is to focus on funding essential school resources and strengthen the school community.
Get connected, speak up, watch yourself grow, give back and effectively engage by becoming a member of the Permenter PTSA!
